2007年１０月初旬の航空自衛隊のF4部門の戦技競技会は、新田原基地開催でした。
新田原基地の３０１SQーF4と那覇基地の３０２Sq-F4の参加でした。
2007年競技会初日は台風による悪天候でした。
戦競が開催できる状況ではなく、私は新田原基地遠征をあきらめました。
この日の真夜中に、新田原基地の地元の方から、
「初日の今日、３０２SQのF4がエンジンランナップをした。」との
ありがたい情報を頂きました。
翌日も悪天候予報で、302SQ機がランナップするのか全く不明でした。
でも私は、ダメ覚悟で真夜中の１時ごろ五木村経由の山越えで新田原基地に出撃しました。
戦競二日目の新田原基地は、やはりドン雲・小雨で、戦競はありませんでした。
でも 幸い３０２SQのF4が小雨の中、飛んでくれました。
私はまさに「行かねば撮れない。」を実感しました。
暗くて写真撮影には不向きでしたが、徹夜して新田原基地通いして良かったと思いました。

The
F4 division of the Air Self-Defense Force's
tactical competition was held at
Nyutabaru Base in early October 2007.
Participation was 301SQ-F4 at Nyutabaru
Base and 302Sq-F4 at Naha Base.
The first day of the 2007 competition was
bad weather due to a typhoon. I gave up
the Nyutabaru base expedition because it
was not possible to hold a battle. It
wasAt midnight of this day, I received a
thankful information from a local person
at Nyutabaru Base saying, "Today on
the first day, the 302SQ F4 had an engine
run-up."
The next day was also a bad weather
forecast, and it was completely unknown
whether the 302SQ aircraft would run up.
However, I was prepared to go out to
Nyutabaru base around 1 o'clock in the
middle of the night over the mountains
via Itsuki village.
The Nyutabaru base on the second day of
the battle was still cloudy and light
rain, and there was no battle.But
fortunately, F4 of 302SQ flew in the
light rain.
I really realized that I had to go to
shoot.It was dark and unsuitable for
photography, but I was glad I went to
Nyutabaru base all night.It is F4 of 302SQ.
