１986年7月11日、新田原基地で陸上自衛隊の北方機動演習が行われていました。

当時は、冷戦真っただ中で、日本の北方重視でした。

新田原基地では、九州の陸上自衛隊の部隊を北海道に移送していました。

入間、小牧、美保基地のC1のほぼ半数の機体と導入後間もないC130が、
間断なく降りては離陸を終日繰り返していました。

この日は、まさに、C1デーでした。

On July 11, 1986, the Ground Self-Defense Force's Northern Mobile Exercise was being held at Nyutabaru Base.

At that time, in the midst of the Cold War, Japan focused on the north.

At Nyutabaru Base, the Ground Self-Defense Force units in Kyushu were transferred to Hokkaido.

Almost half of the C1s at Iruma, Komaki, and Miho bases and the C130, which had just been introduced, continued to take off all day long after getting off without interruption.

This day was exactly C1 day.
