1998年11月に陸上自衛隊と米陸軍の日米共同訓練が南九州の演習場で開催されました。

米軍機材の輸送のために、いろんな米軍輸送機が新田原基地に飛来しました。
（米軍人さんは、民間チャーター機を利用しました。）

米空軍のC5が、とてもゆっくりとRW１０で降りてきました。
C5はRW２８エンドでUターン後、ＲＷ上をタキシ―バックしてエプロンに向かいました。

巨大なC5を見るために、一般道路沿いの南門は、大勢の観客でにぎわいました。



In November 1998, the Japan-US joint training between the Ground Self-Defense Force and the US Army was held at a training ground in Southern Kyushu.

Various US military transport aircraft flew to Nyutabaru base to transport US military equipment.
(US military personnel used a private charter aircraft.)

The US Air Force C5 came down very slowly at RW10.
After making a U-turn at the RW28 end, C5 taxi-backed on the RW and headed for the apron.


The south gate along the general road was crowded with spectators to see the huge C5.

1979〜1980年、The Air Museum Planes of Fameのエド・マロニーさんのWW2大戦機の
コレクションが日本各地で展示されました。
私が住んでいる熊本県でも、荒尾市にある遊園地「三井グリーンランド」で、
日本に現存する大戦機等と一緒に航空博覧会が開かれました。（No.３）



From 1979 to 1980, Ed Maloney's collection of WW2 warbirds from The Air Museum Planes of Fame was exhibited throughout Japan.
Even in Kumamoto Prefecture, where I live, an aviation exposition was held at the amusement park "Mitsui Greenland" in Arao City, along with the existing warbirds in Japan.（No.３）
