新田原基地の202SQの部隊マークは武人埴輪でした。

埴輪は、4世紀から7世紀頃の日本においえ、とても身分が高い人の墓（古墳といいます。）の
周りに並べて置かれた土製の焼き物です。
武人埴輪は、その身分が高い人を守るために置いてあると考えられています。

新田原基地の近くには、たくさんの古墳があります。
それで、２０２SQの部隊は、この武人埴輪を部隊マークとして用いました。



The 202SQ unit mark at Nyutabaru Base was the Samurai Haniwa.
Haniwa is an earthen pottery placed side by side around the tombs of very high-ranking people (called Kofun) in Japan around the 4th and 7th centuries.
The samurai haniwa is believed to be placed to protect high-ranking people.
There are many ancient burial mounds near Nyutabaru Base.Therefore, the 202SQ unit used this samurai haniwa as a unit mark.
