２００３年１１月上旬、沖縄出張の帰りに那覇空港近くの瀬長島に寄りました。
仕事で九州・沖縄の情報交換会があり沖縄県開催の時に
その出張を命ぜられると、出張の合間に嘉手納基地や那覇基地に寄りました。

那覇基地で見かけた陸上自衛隊のLR1です。沖縄基地独特の塗装をしていました。

これは1990年10月04日の嘉手納基地で撮影した米軍機です。

私は、当時30歳と若く体力も気力もありました。私の頭の中は軍用機のことで一杯でした。
軍用機のメッカ、沖縄の嘉手納基地に行きたくてたまりませんでした。
でも私は米軍基地に撮影に行ったことがありませんでした。
「米軍基地って果たして撮影してよいのだろうか？。」　
「もしMPに私が逮捕されたらどうしよう。私は英語をまったく話せないのだけど。」
・・・私はびくびくしていました。
（私は英語ができません。今もグーグル翻訳を使っています。）

でも嘉手納基地近くの「米軍基地が見渡せる丘」は観光客で一杯で、飛行機撮影も安心してできました。
