1984年11月23日の新田原基地です。
新田原基地航空祭の前々日の早朝、海上側からゆっくりと まっくろい排煙をだして飛行機が
基地に近づいてきました。
そしてその機体は基地上空をフライパスしました。
それは、なんとみたこともない米海兵隊のＲＦ４でした。
「でも、なんだったのだろう？？。」と思いました。
翌日の新聞を見ていると「ソ連軍機が早朝に九州沖合の領空を大がかりに侵犯した。」とありました。
もうすぐ航空祭と浮かれていた私でしたが、今世の中は冷戦真っただ中であることを実感しました（＞＜）。
It is the Nyautabaru
base on November 23, 1984.
In the early morning of the day before
the Nyautabaru Air Base Festival, the
plane slowly approached the base with his
round smoke from the sea. And the
aircraft flew over the base.
It was the US Marine Corps RF4, which I
had never seen before.
I thought, "But what was it ??"
When I look at the newspaper the next day
"A Soviet military aircraft invaded
the airspace off Kyushu in the early
morning on a large scale."
I was about to think of
it as an air show, but I realized that
the world was in the midst of the Cold
