これは、２００３年４月中旬に新田原基地で撮影した、千歳基地から飛来した空中給油訓練に参加したF15J／DJです。
複座のF15DJの後席には、米空軍の軍人がアドバイザーとして搭乗していました。

航空自衛隊のＦ１５が米軍の空中給油機から空中給油を受ける初めての訓練が２００３年４月21日から5月2日まで、新田原基地と九州西方空域、四国沖空域で行われました。
当時、航空自衛隊は、2006年に空中給油機の導入を予定していました。（実際は2008年2月納入。）
千歳基地のF15戦闘機4機と米軍嘉手納基地の空中給油機一機が参加しました。
　2003年６月には、アラスカで米空軍が主催する多国間演習（コープサンダー２００３）に、航空自衛隊のＦ１５戦闘機６機が米軍の空中給油を受けながら初参加しました。

The first training exercise in which Air Self-Defense Force F-15s received aerial refueling from a U.S. military tanker aircraft was held from April 21 to May 2, 2003 at Nyutabaru Air Base, the airspace west of Kyushu, and the airspace off the coast of Shikoku.
At the time, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force was planning to introduce aerial refueling aircraft in 2006.
(Actually delivered in February 2008.)
Four F15 fighter jets from Chitose Air Base and an aerial refueling aircraft from Kadena Air Base participated.
In June 2003, six Air Self-Defense Force F15 fighter jets participated for the first time in a multinational exercise (Cope Thunder 2003) sponsored by the U.S. Air Force in Alaska, receiving mid-air refueling from the U.S. military.

これは２００３年１０月上旬のPM4:30に新田原基地にて撮影した、３０１SQのF4EJ改のアプローチです。　
1機目(334号機）のアプローチは、もの凄い右ひねり降りでした。逆光がとっても悔しいです。　


These are the approaches taken by F4EJ Kai of 301SQ at Nyutabaru Air Base at 4:30 PM in early October 2003.
The approach of the first aircraft (No. 334 with shark teeth) was a tremendous right-hand turn. The backlighting is very frustrating.
