１９９８年１0月末から１１月中旬に、陸上自衛隊と米陸軍の共同演習が南九州の陸上自衛隊演習地で行われました。
この時、機材運搬のために米軍輸送機が演習場の近くの航空自衛隊新田原基地に多数飛来しました。
これは、その時に撮影した大型輸送機の前をタキシーする新田原基地所属の機体です。


From the end of October to mid-November 1998, joint exercises between the Ground Self-Defense Force and the U.S. Army were held at the Ground Self-Defense Force training ground in southern Kyushu.
At this time, many US military transport planes flew to the Air Self-Defense Force Nyutabaru Air Base near the training range to transport equipment.
This is an aircraft belonging to Nyutabaru Air Base taxiing in front of the large transport plane that was photographed at that time.








2005年4月18日〜4月26日に、 航空自衛隊と米空軍による空中給油共同訓練が新田原基地で開催されました。
これには、千歳基地の第2航空団の２０１SQと２０３SQのF15が参加しました。
第2航空団のF15は、6月に米国アラスカ州で開催された「 コープサンダー2005」に参加しました。
（これは、2003年4月に行われた初の日米の空中給油共同訓練に次いで、2回目の共同訓練でした。）


この写真は、この訓練に参加した第2航空団のF15Jです。



From April 18th to April 26th, 2005, a joint aerial refueling exercise between the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the US Air Force was held at Nyutabaru Air Base.
F15s from 201SQ and 203SQ of the 2nd Air Wing at Chitose Air Base participated in this event.
F15s of the 2nd Air Wing participated in "Cope Thunder 2005" held in Alaska, USA in June.
(This was the second joint exercise between Japan and the United States, following the first joint aerial refueling exercise between Japan and the United States in April 2003.)
This photo shows an F15J from the 2nd Air Wing that participated in this training.

１９８６年１１月１６日に開催された築城基地航空祭に、厚木基地の米海軍VC5（チェッカーテイルズ）のA4　２機（複座機と単座機）が飛来しました。
複座機(TA4)は、はじめて見る機体でした。

ウェブサイトによると、この部隊は、標的を曳航することが任務の一つであり、当初、味方からの誤射を避けるために尾翼に目立つ赤黄のチェッカーを描いていたそうです。



Two A4 aircraft (a two-seat aircraft and a single-seat aircraft) of the US Navy VC5 (Checker Tails) from Atsugi Air Base flew to the Tsuiki Base Air Festival held on November 16, 1986.
It was my first time seeing a two-seater aircraft(TA4).
According to the website, one of the missions of this unit is to tow targets, and initially they painted a conspicuous red-yellow checker on the tail to avoid accidental fire from allies.










１９８６年１１月１６日に開催された築城基地航空祭に、厚木基地の米海軍VC5（チェッカーテイルズ）のA4　２機（複座機TA4と単座機）が飛来しました。
TA4の後席は、女性パイロットでした。
当時の日本の航空自衛隊には女性パイロットはいませんでしたので、美しい彼女は日本の大勢の航空ファンの人気者で、終日ファンに囲まれていました。
当時若かった私も、そのファンの一人でした。

In the back seat of TA4 was a female pilot.
At the time, there were no female pilots in Japan's Air Self-Defense Force, so this beautiful female pilot was popular with Japan's large number of aviation fans, and was surrounded by fans throughout the day.
Even though I was young at the time, I was one of those fans.












１９８６年１１月１６日に開催された築城基地航空祭に、韓国のスーウオン基地の米空軍のA１０が飛来しました。
A10パイロットの皆さんと記念写真を撮ってもらいました。


A U.S. Air Force A10 from Suwon Air Base in South Korea flew to the Tsuiki Air Base Air Festival held on November 16, 1986.
I had a commemorative photo taken with the A10 pilots.
