These 301SQ-F4EJs, No. 309 and No. 370, were photographed at Nyutabaru Air Base in early 1986.On June 16, 1986, four 301SQ-F4EJs were returning from training when a sudden change in weather occurred around Nyutabaru Air Base, forcing them to divert to Tsuiki Air Base.On this occasion, this two aircraft crashed on land and into the sea due to lack of fuel.Thankfully, all crew members were safe.

This photograph of 301SQ-F4EJ Kai taking off was taken at JASDF Nyutabaru Air Base on October 20th, 1997.You can see an F86 in the background of this photo. When I took the photo, I thought it might be a decoy. However, this aircraft was the gate guard aircraft at Nyutabaru Air Base, and around that time it was undergoing paint maintenance work next to the apron. At the Nyutabaru Air Base Air Show that year, this aircraft was displayed on the apron in perfect condition.

This is a photo of the 301SQ-F4EJ taken at JASDF Nyutabaru Air Base on August 20, 1985.The 301SQ's F4 had just been transferred from Hyakuri Air Base to Nyutabaru Air Base in March of that year. At the time, the F4 was very rare for me, so I would go to Nyutabaru Air Base to take photos of the F4 even on rainy days. The second photo is an F4EJ equipped with a chaff pod.

The photo point at the RW10 end of the JASDF-Nyutabaru base also provided a clean background for the aircraft. But now, due to the difficult situation in East Asia, this photo point is also closed.

These are the formation takeoffs of F4EJs of 302SQ belonging to Naha Air Base, photographed at JASDF-Nyutabaru Base on 22/07/1986.ReferenceAccording to the rules of the Air Self-Defense Force, each unit mark must be smaller than the "Hinomaru" (Japanese flag) on ??the aircraft. However, this white-tailed eagle mark is an exception, and is painted to fill the entire vertical tail. In Japan, there were many fans of this F4 with the white-tailed eagle unit mark.

This (first photo) is a Faker F4EJ No. 428 painted in 301SQ's MiG-21 colors, photographed at JASDF-Nyutabaru base on April 5, 1985.Due to a 1985 Air Self-Defense Force regulation, the unit markings painted on the vertical tail of fighter planes had to be smaller than the Hinomaru (Japanese rising sun flag). As a result, the unit markings became smaller than the Hinomaru (Japanese rising sun flag), as seen in the second photo, taken on January 21, 1986.
